Corrective care

Tissues healing into the form of a scar may be both aesthetically and functionally unpleasant. Scars may pose a number of mental issues and might lead to low self-esteem. At the beginning of a scar, there is usually an injury, surgery, or skin condition, such as acne. Aesthetic medicine offers several solutions to treat scars. No scar may be removed completely, but we can make them discreet. There is a general rule – the sooner you begin to treat your scar, the better result you may achieve.

We offer the most modern devices for scar treatment.

Formation of scars

There are several factors present within the formation of scars: skin and hypodermis quality, depth and type of wound, type of the initial treatment, ability of regeneration, and lifestyle. In an ideal case, the injured area heals thoroughly. However, tissues often heal in a way where the wound is substituted by fibrous tissue, and a scar is formed. Numerous diseases, such as diabetes, infection, or allergies, also play a part in the formation of scars.

What can you gain from this procedure

  • Flattening and lightening of protruding scars, including keloids treatment
  • Effective solution to acne scars or chickenpox scars
  • Rich experience and combination of the most modern techniques for the best possible result

Types of scars

Hypertrophic Scars
A hypertrophic scar is a consequence of the excessive production of fibrous tissue during the healing process. It protrudes above the surrounding tissues, has an unaesthetic appearance, and may cause a number of functional complications. These scars may be noticeably reduced, flattened, and lightened. To treat hypertrophic scars, we use modern lasers, perform pressure massages, and a physician may recommend surgical removal in some cases. Surgical removal is suitable for wide and open scars. A new scar is formed after the old one’s removal, but it is lighter and less visible owing to the surgeon’s precise work.

Keloid Scars
In some cases, the fibrous tissue in the area of a wound exceeds the edges of the wound, and the wound’s tips protrude. These scars are called keloid scars. Keloid scars are usually red or slightly violet and are very uncomfortable to their owners. Keloid scars may be formed following an injury, surgery, vaccination, or insect bite. If you have ever suffered from a keloid, it is essential to tell your physician.

To treat keloids, we use intralesional corticosteroid injections administered into the area to reduce the scars. Furthermore, we may use lasers or excision and promote the healing process, so a new keloid does not form.

Hypotrophic Scars
These scars are, unlike hypertrophic or keloid scars, below the level of surrounding tissues. They are often formed after acne or chickenpox, but even a normal injury may heal into a hypotrophic scar. The success of healing these scars is affected by their depth. A great result is brought by the IPL method, which works with broad-spectrum polychromatic light. Subcision is also effective. During this procedure, fibers pulling the damaged skin inwards are cut. It is suitable to perform dermal filling after subcision to fill the depressions. We can also perform microneedling, mesotherapy, or plasma therapy to promote skin regeneration.

The result is amazing, and improvement has been visible even after the first session.
